Enchanted Waters and Marshland Flyers Day Camp
|
August 11-15, 2008
9 a.m. -3:30 p.m.
Camp Winding River |
“Time Traveler”
Introduction
Come join us for five exciting days of fun and sun at day camp! You’ll get a chance to hang out with old friends and make new ones, create something cool, learn something you didn’t know, and leave with memories that will last a lifetime.
Registration
Packets were mailed out in late January – DON’T THROW THEM AWAY! Registration is due to your leader by March 15.
Troop registration:
Enchanted Waters - April 1, 4-8 p.m. at the Pewaukee Public Library, Visaya room
Marshland Flyers - April 3, after the service unit meeting or by appointment
Volunteer Positions
Day camp is completely staffed by volunteers. We NEED five-day volunteers to help make this a great experience for the girls. Adults work with campers, run specialty programs, and help with preparation and clean-up. Get creative with approaching relatives and friends about this – anyone 18 or older can volunteer. We give preference to five-day volunteers and attempt to match volunteers with their first choice position but cannot guarantee this.
Each troop is required to provide a minimum of one, five-day volunteer for the first one to five girls registered. Another adult is required for every additional one to five girls which can be divided between part-timers.
Training
- PA Day Camp Training (required for all PAs): Sat. May 10 (9 a.m.) - Sun., May 11 (11 a.m.) at Camp Winding River.
- PA Core Training (required for PAs with less than two years experience and who have never taken PA core training): Click here for dates and to register
- Adult Outdoor Training: Sat., May 10, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Camp Winding River.
- Day Camp Orientation (for all adults and PAs, required for five day volunteers): Wed., July 16, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Harnischfeger County Park, Ixonia. You will meet the people (adults and teens) you will work with at camp and receive detailed information about camp activities.
Special Days/Information

Tips for Volunteers
Adults who are volunteering at camp for at least three days may bring other daughters ages three to five or sons ages three to twelve to camp for those days when the adult is volunteering. These kids participate in many of the same activities as the Girl Scouts. Adults bringing a boy or Peewee to camp must agree to spend at least one day in those units in addition to being with their daughter.
Come to training; it will prepare you for what to expect at camp and help ensure you have a great time as well as the girls you work with!
